I only had 1 class repeated 3 times with Mike. 7th 8th and 9th grade band. I think Mike stayed in band throughout school. We were both in the percussion section. Sometimes in those jr. high years Mike's hands could not keep up with the beat and he would start playing spastic beat. Then he would kinda throw the drumsticks on the floor in desperation. This always lit band director Mr. Bondi's fuse and Bondi would go ballistic. That never stopped Mike from going through the same ritual whenever the beat was lost though. Mike kept Bondi on high blood pressure meds and Bondi would bring Mike back to planet earth with the audio beacon resounding off walls and rattling windows and perhaps even echoing back from Mars... Perhaps school should thank Mike for sending Mr. Bondi packing and bringing in legendary director Mr. Grovetti. Mike married underclasswoman band member Sharon Wiggins.
