Philip MacDonald
I was in the math/science curriculum @HHS.
The goober guidance councilor, at the JHS in 9th grade? When I told him I planned to attend Purdue to study engineering, he actually had to get out a course catalog to make sure they offered that.
DUH? DUH? And DUH AGAIN? I was, what? Fourteen or fifteen years old? I knew this, and he did not?
Got Clueless??? I think he was the second string track coach.
I wish I'd had the temerity to ask him why he had to look that up.
And then again, in eighth grade, the same fool recommended I study German because so many scientific papers were in German.
Duh? Duh? Duh again? Not since 1945, dude. We brought all of those Rocket Scientists to Alabama, and then they published in English. Hello? Got a freakin' clue, dude????
Did not my councilor get the freaking memo???? That English is the new German?
Surely do wish I'd studied Spanish, instead. I get by in Spanish nowadays (married to a Cubana for 30 years), but, whoa?
--->>>>> What extraordinary ineptitude.
Our "Guidance Councilors" were nothing but a ship of fools (Consider that Coach Howell's wife was one? A stiffer, more opinionated, unpleasant person I have never met.) I was but a young teen but by and large, knew more about their business than they did? That just bewilders me, to this day.
Looking back, I just cannot believe the ineptitude we were served. It was a travesty. It din't hurt me (because I did my own recon?), but how many others were led astray by the slobbering fools they called "Guidance Councilors????"
To be fair, these people did not have proper training to hold these positions.
---->>> THAT TRAVESTY is at the foot of the School Board?
I swear, at the ripe old age of 28, I could have done a job that would have run RINGS around the guidance these ill prepared fools gave us.
I hope things have improved over the years.
Looking back, I just cannot believe the extraordinarily poor guidance we got.
It SUCKED. There is no other word for it.
Whatabunchaweenies.
