Vicki Kite Bock

Married James Bock in 1978 in Valparaiso. Moved to Ft. Myers, FL in 1982. Studied piano at Royal Conservatory of Music. Moved to Ottawa, IL in 1992. Moved to Tinley Park, IL in 2000. Moved to Portland, OR in 2002. We are thrilled that our children also moved to a Portland after college. We’ve been fortunate to do quite a bit of traveling over the years, taking the kids with us on many overseas trips. I love Europe but Hawaii is still my favorite and an easy trip from Oregon. I used to play a lot of tennis, but now I remain active by playing Pickleball, volunteering at my grandchildren’s school, playing and teaching piano, and keeping up with my grandchildren’s activities: soccer, baseball, softball, swimming, dance etc. I’m blessed to be so much a part of their lives.

My main school memory and happiest times were being in the Hobart Band. In my Junior year I was first chair cornet, so spent many hours practicing and in private lessons. I loved being in the concert band most, but also liked the marching band, playing at football games and parades, Stage Band and pep band during basketball games. After devoting so much time and effort over the years, I was crushed when I couldn’t be in the band during my Senior year due to a first hour class scheduling conflict. So I joined the gymnastics club and continued studying piano. Music has been the primary focus in my life, and is still a big part of my life, but will always come in second to my family, children and grandchildren. They are truly what my life is about.
