Very sad to hear of Joel's passing.

My sympathy to his friends and family.

No kidding?  Joel is gone?

That guy was such a trip.  I used to think of him as a "quiet person" before I started working with him at the Jewel food store around 1969.

He had this crazy,

     whiney voice

(I mean, TRULY nasal and WHINEY!)...

but he had lots to say once you knew him.

  • I dare to say that he was even more oddball than I was,

and that, friends, is a strong statement!

Joel was, w/o a doubt, more philosophical than any other person I have ever met.  Joel had the craziest takes on stuff that never failed to rock me back on my heels... stuff I had never even THOUGHT ABOUT!

Pardon my language here, but Joel was the guy who introduced me to the concept of a "Hungarian Cluster Fuck."

  • Geez.

  • How poetic is that?????

In the words of Weird Al Yankovich:

  • And another one rides the bus...

So sad.

  • Ever so, Joel was an awfully bright light.
