In Memory

Diana Hart (Paris)

Fiday evening, Oct.8 2021, during our meet and greet prior to the Saturday reunion, word circulated amongst our classmates that Diana Hart Paris had suffered a brain aneurysm earlier in the day and was in the University of Chicago Hospital undergoing surgery.  During surgery it was discovered Diana had suffered many aneurysms and the procedure was halted.  Diana passed away at the University of Chicago hospice wing Sunday afternoon.  We are deeply saddened with the loss of Diana.  She has been extremely active on this site.  Her last post in our message forum was October 3 joyfully anticipating the reunion in a few days.  We will posted  again as information becomes available regarding Diana's memorial details.  May God give peace and comfort and rest to Diana's family and all who knew and loved Diana.

Our hearts are so heavy with the news of Diana's passing.  She worked on almost all our reunions with the committee that helped out with our reunion this last weekend.   She loved being apart of our wonderful Hobart High School Class of 1971 and was so pround to have been a Brickie.  We know how much she was looking forward to attending because her response was the first one we received.  She was always a good friend and her smile and laugh were infectious.  We will miss her, but know she is in the arms of our Lord and sharing in the Glory of loved ones gone before.

God Bless her family with Peace of Understanding. Rest in Peace my dear friend.heart

Our opening announcement for our 50th reunion was to give classmates news of Diana and her grave condition.  We opened in prayer specific only to her need and the need of her family as they faced this trial.  It was so solemn and sobering to start with news and prayer of such a dark trial for them but somehow I think Diana's struggle and our unified compassion for all involed set a spiritual tone for attendees that evening.  Diana was truly a loving person who will be missed.  May God continued to watch over and comfort the family and friends of Diana.

As known to many of our classmates, Diana and I were high school sweethearts, were married days after our graduation and had our only son together a short time later. Our relationship together spanned some 25 years.  For the many people that knew and loved Diana, her sudden loss has been difficult, me included.  None more so than our son and her husband John who deeply loved her, cared for her and brought her so much happiness for the past 30 some years, which I was not capable of providing her with.  Prayers for strength for all those that now morn her loss are greatly appreciated.   I will share with you the words I said upon receiving the news of her passing, “God bless, until we meet again”.

I am so sorry to hear about Diana.  We went to elementary school together at Gary Emerson before she moved to Hobart while in middle school.    What a surprise it was when we learned our senior year that we were both at Hobart High School.   She was always such a kind and thoughtful person which is how I will remember her.  May she rest in peace.
