Danny and I were in scouts together while he was living in west Hobart. Danny was always smiling and laughing and just plain fun to be around. I can't recall Danny not having a prosthetic arm and thought it was amusing that he constantly complained that his stump itched. Looking back, it seemed like a very short time between not seeing Danny and learning he had passed away. He was a friend and I will always remember him.
Thanks for sharing Jerry. I took swimming lesson through the YMCA in 5th grade and 6th grade. Danny took lessons one of those years also. It was strange seeing an arm missing but in the pool he wore his stump like a badge of honor. Danny had a strong positive mindset. I am glad I knew Danny Cole.
I knew Danny from Boy Scouts around 6h grade. He was a nice guy with a great attitude, and well liked.
As I recall his arm was amputated due to cancer... I actually asked him what had happened to it.
I think I remember him around at the beginning of 7th grade, and then I realized he was no longer around and figured cancer had gotten the best of him. Danny was likely the first person not a relative that I knew who passed on.

Danny's photo is from the 1966 7th grade yearbook. That is the year Danny passed.
